FFfAW #55: Wood

“Mom, we need some wooden planks to make a miniature tree house for our school’s project.”

“There are some in the storeroom, go get it yourself. But be careful when you handle the saw.”

“Don’t worry, we are very experienced in that!”

In the storeroom…

Unzipping a bag, Darren said, “Look, bro! This piece of wood looks very smooth and shiny… and it comes with six strings!”

“Let’s use this then.” Desmond helped Darren removed the wood from the bag, and they went into their “workshop” – a designated room setup for making their models.

“Honey, did you just play with my guitar?” Daddy asked.

“No! I was busy the whole day. Why did you ask?”

“Well… the guitar bag… is here!” Daddy showed Mommy the bag.

Just then, the boys called out.

“Dad! Look at our tree house!”

“It looks great! The material… looks a bit familiar though.”

“We took it from the bag that you are holding! There are still some small pieces of wood left if you want!”

  1. Well, so much for them being proud of their treehouse! I think the excitement will be squashed as soon as they find out it was their dad’s guitar. Kids are amazing…they don’t always ask before using something they find, and end up getting in trouble. This is a great story…so typical of kids! πŸ™‚
