Green man

Three-year-old Kate and her mother were waiting at the traffic light. Kate was happily licking her lollipop when the red man at the traffic light turned green. Her mother held her petite hand, and was about to cross the road when Kate pulled her mother back abruptly.

“What’s wrong, dear?”

“We cannot cross the road, Mommy.”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s green man!”

“That’s right! It’s green man! So we can cross the road!”

“NO! We cannot!”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s GREEN MAN!”

“Why can’t we cross the road when it’s green man?”

“It’s for the man! Only men can cross! We have to wait for the green lady!”

“But there’s no green lady, my dear.”

“Well… then we can only take the overhead bridge.”
