Sweetie Avocado

Avocado, avocado
Low in sugar, high in fibre,
Full of vitamins and minerals,
Reduces heart disease and lowers cholesterol.

Puréed and tossed with pasta;
Iced and blended with milk; or
sliced and baked in pizza.
A nutritious fruit I adore.

I made avocado milk shake yesterday, just nice for use in today’s assignment: flavour. 😉

In response to Writing 201, Day 8: Flavour, Elegy, Enumeratio

Elegy at a glance:

  • Originally requiring specific meters, nowadays elegies come in all shapes and sizes, though they are united by their (often melancholic) focus on loss and longing.

Enumeratio often entails the repetition of conjunctions like “and” and “or” — you can use them in clever ways, for example, to create internal rhymes or assonance.

  1. Nicely done. And since I didn’t write anything today, here is something for you and Mukal Chand:

    Avocado

    Cat-eye green flesh splits,
    the blade sinks into the seed;
    a dominant parent
    that wraps its spawn in knobby armor
    and, apparently, hogs all the nutrients.

      1. It has a very chunky and crunchy texture because of coarsely mashed avocado mixed with finely chopped onions and tomatoes. The tanginess of the lemon and the earthy cilantro added to it make it a perfect accompaniment to some spicy salsa and nachos. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you...
