Farewell to Mango Tree

mango tree hse

She lived in a mango tree.

She had lived there since she was a puppy.

She loved the view and the feeling of “living above the others”.

She loved to pluck the fresh mangoes from the tree (when we were not looking).

She enjoyed trotting down the stairs to pick up the newspaper.

She enjoyed barking when the birds chirped.

She would lay on the balcony to sunbathe.

She would block our way, and refuse to budge.

She misses her mango tree, since we moved last year.

She whines everyday, hoping that we would bring her near.

Now that she’s here, she refuses to leave.

I take out a treat that she can not resist.

“Say goodbye to the mango tree,” I say.

“Woof! Woof!’ she replies.

Now we really have to go.

We turn to the mango tree and wave our last goodbye.

  1. You would love to hear from me?

    I absolutely love this poem ❤ ❤ ❤

Such cuteness embedded in words. This picture is also a wonderful one.

I am not able to share this on FB, Twitter and Google as I don't see sharing options–though I would have loved to. May I reblog this with your permission?

    Love and light ❤

    Anand 🙂
